His story

Building across disciplines.

Yiming’s interests meet at the intersection of mechanical engineering, composition and orchestral performance. He is drawn to understanding how systems work—and to turning ideas into physical, musical or educational experiences that other people can use.

From 2013 to 2023, he spent a formative decade studying across British and International Baccalaureate school environments in Moscow. Growing within international communities developed adaptability, cultural awareness and curiosity about different ways of thinking.

After moving to Dubai in 2023, Yiming continued the IB programme at North London Collegiate School Dubai. As a co-leader of the Engineering Society, he created lessons on mechanisms, designed and manufactured 3D-printed demonstrators, organized engineering challenges and helped students move from technical principles to working prototypes.

Alongside his academic education in Moscow, Yiming completed seven years of professional classical piano training. Music developed discipline, structural awareness and close attention to expression. He later applied that foundation to original composition, piano performance and live orchestral conducting.

Now studying Mechanical Engineering at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, Yiming is developing deeper foundations in mechanics, materials, design and manufacturing while continuing to compose, build and document his work.
